Animal Ethics and Institutional Approval Policy

Research involving animals must comply with recognized national and international standards. All manuscripts reporting animal experiments must include:

1. Mandatory Ethical Approval

A statement containing:

  • Name of ethics committee (IAEC/CPCSEA or equivalent)

  • Approval number

  • Approval date

  • Compliance with national/international guidelines

Required Statement

“All animal procedures were approved by the appropriate Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (Approval No: ____, Date: ___) and carried out according to national and international animal welfare guidelines.”

2. Welfare Requirements

  • Humane handling and housing

  • Minimization of pain and distress

  • Use of anesthesia/analgesia

  • Ethical justification for animal use

  • Recognized euthanasia protocols

Submissions lacking ethical approval will be rejected.
