Peer Review Policy

The Indian Journal of Animal Reproduction (IJAR) uses an external double-blind peer review system.

1. Review Model

  • Double-blind: authors and reviewers remain anonymous

  • External: reviews are conducted by qualified experts from universities, research institutions, and industry—not by internal editors

2. Review Steps

  1. Initial editorial screening

  2. Assignment to two external reviewers

  3. Detailed evaluation (originality, methodology, relevance, ethics, clarity)

  4. Revision cycle (if needed)

  5. Final decision by Editor-in-Chief

3. Reviewer Selection

Reviewers are selected based on:

  • Subject expertise

  • Academic credentials

  • Absence of conflict of interest

4. Review Integrity

  • No reviewer handles manuscripts from their own institution

  • Editors cannot review their own or close collaborators’ work
